1. Go for a Ride

Cycling is an excellent workout, but biking through tough terrain isn’t for the faint of heart—or the young. Even so, your family can still enjoy a nice bike ride together. Whether you choose a trail at Palo Duro Canyon, Wildcat Bluff, the path at your local park or the streets of your neighborhood, you’ll have fun and get plenty of exercise. Just be sure to wear proper safety gear. 

2. Take a Hike

With Palo Duro Canyon and Wildcat Bluff nearby, you’ve got the perfect setting for a family hike. Go at your own pace; it’s not a competition. It doesn’t matter if your family hikes the most difficult trail or the simplest one as long as you’re getting some exercise together. And after your hike, have a picnic or check out some exhibits to make the day more memorable

Sports offer an opportunity to keep your kids physically active, to teach them good sportsmanship and responsibility, and for you to get involved. Cheering your kid on as he/she hits their first home run is something you’ll cherish forever. Most of the parks in town have tennis courts, soccer fields and basketball courts free for you to use. The courts are usually emptier early in the morning.

4. Dance the Night Away

Cold or raining outside? No problem. Turn on some tunes and jam out. Kids love to dance, especially young ones. All you need is your living room and some music to create a fun dance party that gets your heart rate up. So push those couches back and start boogying!

5. Join the Club

Joining a fitness club that’s family-friendly is undoubtedly one of the most efficient ways to keep your family healthy. Unlike a typical gym, a family fitness club allows your whole family to participate in activities together so you can stay in shape without taking valuable time away from your children and spouse.
