Mika has been active her entire life and grew up playing sports. After high school, she went on to play collegiate volleyball at UT-Permian Basin. It was there that she realized she had a passion for coaching others. After obtaining a degree from Texas Tech University, she began teaching and coaching volleyball at the high school level. Seven years of coaching turned into a love for personal training.
Mika is a joy and a blessing to work with and always makes the best use of her clients’ time and energy. She helps her clients reach their goals through her professionalism, knowledge, patience, example, sense of humor, and personalized workouts. She is specifically sensitive to limitations when clients are in rehab from surgeries and can modify workout plans accordingly to prevent injury and to increase confidence.
Mika is excited to have the opportunity to begin working with men and women of all ages and to be a part of the Real Results Fitness team and the Amarillo Town Club.
The ATC and its members know Mika’s expertise will take fitness at the ATC to a new level!
“I feel better and stronger than I have in my entire life and that’s saying a lot for a 58-year-old granny! When I started training with Mika Wood, my goals were to strengthen, slim down, and gain confidence. Mika has helped me to attain each of those goals. Most of all, she has helped me rehab from two total knee replacements. Mika’s sensitivity to my limits, both what I can and can’t do, has prevented injury of any kind while strengthening, toning, burning fat, and building confidence.”
